Financial Analyst

As part of our continued expansion, we are on the lookout for a Financial Analyst to join our growing team located in Montreal. Working under the guidance of the Finance & Administration Director, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing support to the Finance Team to deliver effective business partnering, planning and analysis across the group. This includes management reporting, forecasting and analysis to assist the various departments in making key decisions.

The Role

**As a Financial Analyst you will be responsible for**:
Translating data into meaningful information to support business decisions.
Providing data in a simple and meaningful way accessible to all areas of the business.
Proactively identifying and understanding trends in data.
Understanding and leveraging system data and capability.
Streamlining interfaces between systems.

Producing and analyzing financial reports

Creating and maintaining templates for financial reports that would be distributed monthly and quarterly.
Creating analysis reports to interpret the results.
Using charts, graphs and KPIs to analyze and report variances vs prior periods and budget.
Creating ad-hoc reports for staff

Producing and Analyzing Sales reports

Creating and maintaining templates for sales reports that would be distributed monthly.

**Reporting based on various categories**: customer, company, location, service, and combinations of these.
Analyzing sales results and variances
Trend reporting and KPIs.
Exception reporting
Creating ad hoc and pro forma reports

Producing and Analyzing Profitability reports

Creating and maintaining templates for product and service profitability reports that would be distributed monthly and quarterly.

**Reporting based on various categories**: customer, company, location, service, and combinations of both.
Reporting for various departments
Analyzing profitability results and variances
Monitoring data references in systems to ensure accurate output of management information.
Updating reports to reflect cost and fee changes.
Demonstrating effects of pricing adjustments on profitability

Forecasting

Preparation of budget
Preparing templates to produce the forecast.
Preparing templates to upload the forecast to the accounting system in an organized and verifiable manner.
Creating and maintaining templates for actual vs forecast reports that would be distributed monthly and quarterly.
Analyzing forecast vs actual results and variances
Producing “what if” scenario reports
Producing pro forma reports throughout the year Cash projections by currency

Producing departmental reports

Preparing departmental KPI reports
Developing a balanced scorecard

**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience**:
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
A degree in Finance or Accounting
Comprehensive knowledge of Business intelligence software (Sage SEI is an asset)
Experience with budgeting and data analysis software are assets.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products, in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
