We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant to join our team at a busy office in Newcastle for 7 Family Medicine Physicians.

Main duties involve answering telephones, sending referrals to specialists, booking office appointments, registering and checking in patients, and documenting in the patient chart. Taking patient weight, height, BP, etc. Training will be provided.

Other daily duties include: mail pick-up and sorting; communication with pharmacies and patients regarding prescriptions and messages (fax or telephone); collecting payment for direct patient billing by cash or Interac; and communicating direct patient billing policies to patients.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
