A Dietary Aide’s primary responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of food service assembly, ensuring all dishes adhere to a particular menu, and maintaining health and sanitization standards. Are you adaptable to changing routines?

Dietary Aide duties and responsibilities

Dietary Aides perform many tasks that relate to the health and nutrition of residents. Duties and responsibilities of a Dietary Aide may include:

- Assisting in the training of nutrition services or department staff
- Assembling food items and meals for residents in accordance with set menus and portion standards
- Delivering food to residents in the dining hall
- Setting, clearing, cleaning, and sanitizing dining spaces
- Following established safety procedures for all food and equipment
- Ensuring the correct labelling of food and leftovers
- Taking part in departmental quality control audits and procedures
- Ability to lift, pull and push weights of 25lbs or more frequently throughout shift.
- Must have a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to quality.
- Ability to work well under pressure. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing work routines or priorities.
- Able to work with mínimal supervision. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Excellent attendance

MUST HAVE:
1. Proof of vaccination

2. Valid police check for vulnerable sector

3. Food Handler's Certificate

4. TB Test

5. 2 references

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

COVID-19 considerations:
Emerald Retirement Residence strictly follow the screening procedures for staff, essential visitors and contractors. Wearing a mask is mandatory during the entire visit and hand sanitizing. Proof of double vaccination, ID and rapid test are required.
