**Top Shelf Feeds is an Island Owned and Family Operated business with five Feed & Pet stores located throughout Vancouver Island & Powell River. It also operates the only Animal Feed Mill on Vancouver Island. The Top Shelf Feeds Duncan location specializes in providing quality service to the animal, pet and farm owner communities. We are looking for a Store Assistant Manager who demonstrates strong leadership, excellent communication skills and information-sharing skills. The Assistant Store Manager will be an example in customer service, procedure, communication and will work with the team to keep it motivated and successful. They will be able to participate in the sales development and the smooth running of the store.**
**Responsibilities**:
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the overall management of the store and its operations. The assistant manager will be responsible for the following:
- Support and execute regional store strategies to grow store traffic and optimize profitability.
- Maintain inventory by ordering, receiving, performing periodic inventory checks, managing returns, and staying in contact with vendors and manufacturers.
- Provide training to improve knowledge base of the staff and utilize cross-training methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent.
- Meet sales goals by training, motivating and providing feedback to store staff.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandizing standards.
- Propose innovative ideas to increase market share.
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Help deal with issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, etc).
- Have excellent communication with the store manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
Ability in accurate and cost-effective decision-making. Excellent communication skills when dealing with customers and staff.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with a high level of computer competency.
Preferably 2 years' experience in retail and focused on excellent customer service.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
