Pizza Maker

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings according to restaurant recipes and standards.
- Stretch and shape dough by hand to create a variety of pizza sizes and styles (e.g., thin crust, deep-dish, etc.).
- Assemble pizzas with fresh ingredients, ensuring even distribution and proper portioning.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to achieve optimal pizza quality.
- Operate pizza ovens and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory of ingredients, informing management of low stock levels.
- Assist with kitchen prep work and other duties as needed during busy periods.
- Provide excellent customer service by fulfilling special requests and accommodating dietary restrictions.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and smooth food service.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a pizza maker or in a similar role in a kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of various pizza-making techniques, including dough preparation and oven operation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Passion for cooking and creating great-tasting food.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Culinary training or certification in food handling.
- Experience working with wood-fired or brick ovens.
- Customer service experience in a restaurant setting.

Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and occasional lifting of heavy objects. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is also preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Victoria, BC V8W 1H2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Food preparation: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
