New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities.
**Supported Cluster Housing (SCH)** is one of the many services offered by New Directions. Cluster Housing provides independent living supports to people who may have intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues, and who experience barriers to living independently in the community.
We are currently seeking a Community Resource Worker to join our team. Position details are as follows:
**Tuesday**
- 11pm - 7am**Wednesday**
- 11pm - 7am**Thursday**
- 11pm - 7am**Friday**
- 11pm - 7am**Saturday**
- 11pm - 7am Job Responsibilities Include: (But are not limited to)
- Monitoring and securing housing buildings to ensure the safety of all tenants
- Supporting individuals through crisis situations, and who may be in conflict with the law and struggling with addictions.
- Responsible to support the needs of the participants directed by the clinical team; within the program mandate for living independently in the community and in the cluster housing locations, in keeping with the program’s best practices and established model.
- Responding to crisis situations and/or contacting 911
- Ensuring tenants do not damage the property
- Maintains awareness of community resources.
- Completing detailed reports and shift logs upon completion of every shift
- Empowering individuals to maintain independent living situations in a cluster housing model.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities is required
- Experience working with people with mental health barriers preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with access to a safe, well-maintained vehicle for work purposes
- Effective problem-solving ability & strong communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- First Aid/CPR and NVCI training will be provided.
The salary range for this full-time, permanent 80-hour bi-weekly position is $17.11 to $23.10 per hour, dependent upon education and/or experience. A full benefits package (which includes Health, Dental, and Long Term Disability Benefits)** **is provided to regular, full-time employees. The anticipated start date for this position is October 15th 2024.
This position is a part of the UFCW Local 832 Union Collective Agreement
