**Resident Services Aide at Extendicare Bayview**
**Part-time Evening 8am-4pm, 30 hours biweekly**

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be scheduled to work directly with residents and in all departments. This includes nursing, support services, administration, and program services. As a valued member of Long-Term Care Services, you will demonstrate a commitment to resident safety by providing quality services in accordance with the organization’s mission and vision. Responsibilities may include resident specific programming, companionship, portering, light resident housekeeping and laundry tasks, meal service, and clerical. This position assumes an active role in the infection prevention and control program and assists with the orientation of new staff as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 Diploma
- Experience with an older adult population an asset
- Strong customer and resident service skills. Experience in a high paced customer service setting an asset
- Flexible and willingness to learn new tasks
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to quickly changing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English (other languages an asset)
- Ability to work well independently with mínimal supervision and in a team environment
- Adheres to established department policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment, and infection control
- Participates in facility meetings and attends in-service education programs as assigned
- Knowledge or willingness to learn environmental cleaning, laundry, and related processes including assisting residents with organizing and tidying their room, supporting with meals, 1:1 recreational activity, sorting and labelling resident items.
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, reach, lift for significant periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures
