Cargo Surveyor

**Job Summary**
Control Union Canada Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Cargo Surveyor to support inspection operations across ports and terminals. The role involves executing vessel and barge draft surveys, performing cargo inspections, and overseeing the loading and discharge of bulk cargoes. The Cargo Surveyor will liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, vessel agents, and terminal personnel to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution of survey activities. Responsibilities include reporting, sample handling, documentation verification, and maintaining ongoing communication with clients and office staff. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in dynamic field environments.

**Responsibilities**
- Liaison with personnel of CU offices/subcontractor / vessel agents / terminals for execution of orders
- Execution of vessel/barge draft surveys.
- Execution of cargo surveys.
- Superintending bulk cargoes.
- Advise office staff and clients of the progress of the job.
- Handling and recording of samples.
- check and verify documentation received from CU offices/subcontractors for accuracy
- Issue reports.
- Assist Operations Manager in any miscellaneous duties

**Requirements**:

- Minimum - High school diploma
- Preferred - Marine background
- On the job training to be initiated by CU Group Training Specialist or competent surveyor.
- Working knowledge of shipboard terminology.
- Proficient in math.
