**SUMMARY OF THE POSITION**

The Crisis Stabilization Worker is part of a team that supports individuals during their stay at the Crisis Stabilization Beds. Support will be provided in a person-centred, holistic, individualized and flexible manner. Responsibilities will include responding to the present crisis and immediate needs, advocacy and referrals and linkages to other services. Staff in conjunction with individuals will develop a crisis and recovery plan which reflects identified needs.

The Crisis Stabilization Worker will be responsible for reviewing and screening initial inquires and referrals and intake process, in conjunction with the Team Lead of Crisis Stabilization and will take the lead for providing support to individuals while in the program.

This position works in a unionized environment.

**Rate**:$24.61-$29.50

**HOURS OF WORK**
- This position has a set schedule on a four week rotation
- Additional shifts available for pick up
- Must be available to work days, evenings and overnights (awake shifts).

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Screening and intake of clients
- Assessment, planning and coordination of clients care plans
- Crisis intervention and support
- Supportive counselling
- Assisting clients to enhance skills related to activities of daily living
- Ensure the safety, health and well-being of clients
- Facilitate and support the daily activities of the home (meal planning and preparation, laundry and cleaning)
- Maintain clear, concise client file documentation

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**
- 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with mental health and/or addiction concerns
- Skilled in assessment, crisis intervention and crisis/recovery plan development
- Excellent organizational, oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to respect the rights and personal preference in treatment, rehabilitation and support including the Recovery Model
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and work a variety of all shifts
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience working for an organization which provides housing and support services to individuals with mental health and/or addiction issues would be an asset
- Understanding and sensitive to the needs of people experiencing serious mental health issues
- Ability to work effectively with people with a variety of life experiences and culturally diverse backgrounds
- Additional Qualifications such as NVCI, ASIST, First Aid and CPR would also be an asset
- Personal philosophy and values that are compatible with Thresholds Homes and Supports
