Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of **Field Service Technician** at our **Calgary, AB**shop location.

This shop-based position will require travel that is anticipated to be approximately 75% of the time, with overnight stays required dependent on business needs. In this role, you’ll use existing and new hands-on skills learned to support our customers. Training will be provided.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work in a safe manner, lead by example and contribute to overall company safety

- Work in a team environment to efficiently achieve a high standard of quality and service to Applied’ s extensive customer base

- Communicate clearly with internal and external customers and team members

- Ability to maintain cooperative and productive team relationships

- Work with shop administrator before and after jobs to plan and review

- Work with leadership to ensure assigned field service vehicles and essential service equipment are properly maintained and utilized.

- Field Service Duties as an individual or a team may include:

- Mobilize for the job

- Travel to customer site

- Communicating with customers on jobsite

- Complete scope of work

- Stay out of town around customers’ location for the duration of the job (if required)

- Return to shop and Demobilize

- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Experience troubleshooting Hydraulic systems

- Journeyman, Apprentice, or similar certified person

- Hydraulic benchwork repair experience would be an asset

- A knowledge of basic lubrication systems would be an asset

- Welding experience/DC wiring experience would be an asset

- Proven ability to work in team environment

- Ability to adapt to new surroundings and tasks

- Work with a common sense approach to the scope of work

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Self-motivated, detail oriented

- Ability to read, interpret standards, specifications, and drawings

- Ability to prioritize several tasks and complete a variety of work assignments within structured and/or critical deadlines

- Service orientated, ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

- The ability to effectively communicate technical findings in writing and verbally.
