The Discount Analytics team at Loblaw is hiring a Data Scientist with experience in applied research and problem solving. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting analyses and develop impactful models and solutions to help solve a wide variety of data science problems.

What You'll Do:

- Meet with various business units to understand their existing processes and identify areas of opportunities and improvement
- Work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Increase internal adoption of test design, statistical measurement, and advanced analytics methodologies
- Stay up-to-date and implement the best data and software development (SQL, Python, ML) approaches
- Strictly adhere to legal and compliance guidelines, regarding access and exposure to sensitive and confidential information

What You'll Bring:

- University, Master or Ph.D. degree in an analytical field of study (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Industrial Psychology or other relevant fields).
- 3+ years of work experience directly related to quantitative analysis with proven results
- Experience in SQL, Python, and PySpark
- Experience working in cloud environments, with a preference for GCP
- Experience in analytical roles working with large data sets and analytic tools, and some subset of the following: scikit-learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch
- Experience in software engineering is an asset
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, storytelling skills
- Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong detail orientation is essential in this role
- A team player and self-starter
