Viacore Edmonton is looking for a Journeyperson Metal Fabricator (Fitter) with at least 5 years’ experience to support our growing Edmonton Shop Fabrication Team. Fabricated items include: structural / mechanical equipment, belt / chain conveyors & structures, chutes, bucket elevators

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Lay out reference points and patterns
- Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
- Construct patterns and templates
- Install fabricated components in final product
- Move completed assemblies safely by using material handling, rigging, hoisting and lifting equipment
- Study engineering drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal efficiently and cost effectively
- Use metal-working machines and cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, and roll, bend or press steel into the desired shapes,
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units
- Fasten components together (by mechanical means or tack weld) in preparation for a welder to complete the process.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Education: Journeyperson (or Red Seal) Metal Fabricator (Fitter) Certification
- Experience: 5 years minimum after Trade Certificate Completion.

**Welding techniques**
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
- Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

**Equipment and machinery experience**
- Press brake experience is a **must**.
- CNC Plasma Table Experience preferred.
- Computer numerical control (CNC) machines
- Metal Band Saw
- Cutting torches (Oxy fuel / Plasma)
- Drills
- Grinder
- Shears
- Overhead Crane / Rigging
- Counterbalance Forklift
