This role leads a multidisciplinary team engaged in various construction projects aimed at modernizing and enhancing Canadian Forces facilities in British Columbia from Vancouver to Trail in the East and Prince George in the North including all points in-between. The Chilliwack Site has its main office in Chilliwack and 2 satellite offices located in Vancouver and Vernon. The Construction Services Team Leader position will provide construction project support to their direct reports for consultant management, in addition to general oversight to the BC Mainland construction projects. The DCC Chilliwack Site manages a variety of projects from development through to design and finally implementation on projects across all of Mainland BC. These projects include utilities replacement, UXO clearance, site improvements, and demolition of existing assets. This role will be provided internal training on the areas listed as well as opportunities to attend external training courses for further career development.

**KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES**

**Primary**
- Oversee a team managing construction, professional services and service contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, and DCC contract management policies and processes
- Solve complex problems within delegated authority
- Facilitate contract-related coordination and communications between stakeholders (e.g. contractors, consultants, Client-Partners)
- Promote and manage business development opportunities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client Partners and/or stakeholders
- Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
- Manage risk
- Perform human resources functions (e.g. coach, supervise, mentor, plan and allocate resources, and manage performance)

**SKILLS**
**General and Specific Knowledge**
- Best practices, methods, trends and legislation in construction, architecture and engineering

**Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience**
- **Minimum**: college diploma in engineering, architecture or related field with five years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
