We are looking for a part-time Personal Support Worker to join our Westhill team in Waterloo This position requires flexibility to accept assignments according to the operational needs of the residence, including every other weekend. Experience what it means to be part of our family and build a career you’re proud of. **About the Role**: - Provide personal care and assistance in activities of daily living for the residents. - Adhere to company policies, procedures, practices and philosophies. Work in accordance with all industry and regulatory compliance agencies, the Ontario Retirement Communities Association, The Retirement Homes Act 2010 and O. Reg 166/1, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ontario Fire Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and other pertinent legislated regulations/standards. - Maintain confidentiality with respect to resident and operational Residence matters, exercise courtesy, good judgment and concern for the safety and well-being of residents and visitors. This includes adherence to the Social Media Policy. **Experience**: - Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide or Personal Support Worker program. An actively enrolled second or third-year nursing student or internationally trained nurse may also qualify. - Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process. - Must have respect, understanding and empathy for the elderly. - Previous experience in cleaning responsibilities is an asset. - The ability to understand and perform duties effectively, communicate any pertinent issues regarding residents and their care and work accurately and quickly. - Self-directed and team-oriented, with proficient organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Must be committed to multi-disciplinary teamwork and demonstrate an ability to work through collaboration, joint decision making and integrated strategies. - Must successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Check and disclose any convictions, charges, restraining orders, probation orders and/or warrants during the course of employment that affect in any way the clear Vulnerable Sector Check. - Must provide a Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) document or Medical Note from a Physician stating free from infectious disease. **What We Can Offer You**: Join Our Team for a Supportive and Enriching Employee Experience We believe in creating a workplace where you can thrive and feel valued every day.
