**Area Manager, Health, Safety and Environment**

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Area Manager to join our dedicated team in Fort McMurray, AB. Reporting to the Vice President, the HSE Area Manager is tasked with providing safety leadership, support, and coordination for multiple locations.

**Compensation**:$90-$100K

**Work Shift**: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Travel will be required, and occasional on-call weekend shifts may also be required.

**Job Type**: Full-time

**Qualifications & Skills Required**:

- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health Safety Act and the Traffic Safety Act
- Knowledge of applicable HSE regulations, codes, practices and standards
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well with others and create effective working relationships on all levels (internal/external)
- Familiarity with NSC Audit process is an asset

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Lead the implementation of Health and Safety Management initiatives and processes to build an organization-wide safety culture
- Lead in the development of company Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
- Be visible in the field daily to our clients, management and staff
- Oversee the documentation of incident files to ensure compliance with regulatory, internal and client audits
- Gather, organize, analyze, and report out on a variety of safety performance and compliance data
- Manage all on-line safety compliance websites
- Provide guidance, support and direction for HSE related issues, including compliance with safety regulations and investigation into incidents
- Provide guidance to incident investigations ensuring causal factors are identified and corrective actions are documented and communicated
- Develop, lead and manage the KPI process/budget including action plans as needed to address concerns
- Maintain all safety related policies and procedures. And oversee imputation into business practice.
- Lead and develop a team of safety and professionals

**Years of Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years in a similar role is required
- Experience in Transportation is considered an asset

**Education Requirements**:

- Completion of a college or university degree in a related field; specifically, certification in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred
- NCSO, CRSP, CTSP, or OHS designation is preferred
- COR Audit certification through AMTA (_required within 6 months of employment_)
- Valid Class 1, 2, 2Q or 5 driver's license with a clean driving record

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
