Trinity Communication Services Limited (a subsidiary of Bird Construction) was founded on August 16th, 1990. We are a diversified Inside and Outside Plant infrastructure build contractor, servicing major telecommunication and utility companies all across Ontario. Trinity has a reputation for standards unparalleled in the industry, striving at all times to maintain rigid controls helping to complete projects safely, on time and on budget.

Overview:
The Design Technician is responsible for design of outside plant telecommunications infrastructure, fibre optic network, and RF system for projects consisting of new build, forced relocates, rebuild and extensions.

This position is based in the greater Toronto area.

Responsibility:
- Design fibre optic network and coaxial system while adhering to provincial, municipal, utility and client specifications- Complete detailed layout and design of fibre optic network and coaxial system utilizing client provided programs- Draft and design new build and incorporate field changes and as-builts using client specific software- Produce maps and work packages for construction purposes- Identify, collect, and record required attributes in the design- Read and interpret existing drawings and plans to successfully create telecommunications network designs- Perform site walk, right of way and route assessment to confirm path is acceptable- Liaise with surveyors, drafters, contractors, and field crew to convey design information and determine solutions- Able to travel for projects as required- Performs other duties as required

Qualifications:
- Engineering Technician diploma or other related discipline is preferred- At least 2 years of experience in outside plant design is preferred- Must be proficient with AutoCAD Version 2013 or higher- Must be proficient with NetX and SpatialNet- Experience working with Visio or Micro-Station is an asset- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and ever evolving job environment- A highly motivated self-starter that can work independently and can work collaboratively with other departments- Willing to take on new challenges and solve problems with mínimal direction
