**DESCRIPTION**: Organics - Laboratory Technician - Richmond, BC _(Full Time - Monday-Friday-8:30am-4:30pm )_
As an Organics Lab Technician for CARO Analytical Services’ growing laboratory network, your main responsibilities will include:
- Perform sample preparation using documented procedures. - drying, grinding, filtration, screening, extraction, and digestion.
- Perform laboratory analyses following documented specific methods and/or procedures.
- Ensure that work is conducted in adherence with quality standards and perform all required quality control procedures.
- Carry out all required record-keeping and documentation and assist in sample flow and archiving as well as data archiving.
- Operate instrumentation and process analytical data.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate instrumentation.
- Carry out all required data processing (i.e., calculations, data review, data entry, archival, etc.).
- Follow analytical methods in accordance with SOPs and specific study requirements.
- Prepare all required reagents, standards, reference materials, etc.
- Maintain logs and record as required by quality documents.
- Dispose samples according to local regulations.
- Receive and ship supplies, assist to restock laboratory consumables/chemicals, and general laboratory clean-up and maintenance.
- Conduct field sampling where applicable.
- Clean lab areas, glassware and other reusable labware.
- Complete other administrative duties as directed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- University or College degree/diploma in science.
- Experience in an analytical laboratory is an asset.
- Previous experience with GCMS is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Proficient with standard computer software (MS Office, LIMS, etc.)
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Work Instructions.
- Punctual, detail orientated with strong record keeping and communication skills.
- Managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lb and perform repetitive tasks for a long period of time.
- Flexible in working hours (evenings and weekends) during peak periods.

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
