**DESCRIPTION: MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY ANALYST- Richmond, BC**

As a Laboratory Analyst in the Microbiology department, your main responsibilities include:

- Preparing and analyzing client/QC samples using documented procedures.
- Ensuring that work is conducted in adherence with quality standards.
- Follow analytical methods in accordance with SOPs and specific study requirements.
- Operating instrumentation and processes analytical data.
- Maintaining and calibrating instrumentation.
- Preparing and maintaining analytical standards and reagents.
- Maintaining logs and records as required by quality documents.
- Reviewing and validating generated test data.
- Carry out all required record-keeping, documentation and assist in sample flow and archiving as well as data archiving.
- Complete other administrative duties as directed.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Degree/diploma in microbiological or biological sciences.
- 2+ years’ experience with EWQA and Q-tray sample preparation is preferred.
- Computer literate (MS Office, Laboratory Information Systems).
- Meticulous, organized, focused, steady-handed, and able to multi-task.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy environment and handle multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental methodologies, environmental regulations and quality management practices.
- Flexible in working hours (evenings, weekends) during peak periods.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
