Working with Individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. To assist and teach daily living skills, which could include banking, budgeting, personal hygiene, cooking, home management, recreation, healthy and balanced lifestyle. To be able to teach and develop independence for all our Individuals.

**Specific Skills**:

- Present yourself professionally while out in the community.
- Ability to work well with Individuals at different functioning levels and abilities.
- Creative with activities to complete with Individuals.
- Able to work well with Individuals with behaviors, follow their behavioral programs as written, and follow personal/professional boundaries.
- Good communication skills to keep family members in the know and happy with services being provided.
- Build trust and positive relationships with all Individuals.
- Be able to work independently, as this home normally only has one staff working at a time.
- Ability to teach new skills. (Individuals enjoy cooking in this home)
- Open to hiring male staff in this area.

**Specific Tasks**:

- Required to work a minium 12 hours per month ( can work more if possible)
- Complete mínimal personal care (ex. Preparing bath)
- Assist with house cleaning.
- Assist with cooking meals.
- Drive Individuals to and from doctors’ appointments and provide support at appointments.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reports.
- Deliver medications.
- Take Individuals out to parks, walks, and events, especially during the nicer months (Individuals really enjoy being outside in this home)

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $17.86 per hour

- Nursing Schooling: 1 year (preferred)
- working with disabilities: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English clearly and fluently (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Drivers License & Reliable vehicle (required)
- Criminal record c/w Vulnerable Sector (required)
- CPR Certification/First Aid within 2 weeks of being work (required)
