We are building a culture where differences are valued and celebrated. **Apprentice Refrigeration Mechanic** Reporting to the Service Manager the Apprentice Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems as well as geothermal and air source heat pumps. **Key Responsibilities**: - Under direct supervision of a journeyperson, the apprentice shall perform all duties assigned to install, maintain and service HVAC and refrigeration equipment including. - Help measure and lay out reference points for installation. - Help assemble and install components using specialized hand and power tools following manufacturer instructions and blueprints. - Measure and cut piping and connect piping using brazing equipment. - Test for leaks using testing devices. - Help charge systems with refrigerant, calibrate and perform routine maintenance. - Help connect components to power sources, ducts and refrigerant lines. After installation, the mechanic ensures that the system is functioning optimally. - Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments. - Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components. - Read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints and specifications. - Test lines, components, and connections for leaks. - Mechanics are dispatched from a central location and assigned to job sites. - This position also requires maintaining a safe work environment. **Requirements**: - Applicants must be registered as an apprentice or be willing and able to be registered with the appropriate governing body. - Valid class 5 drivers license with a satisfactory drivers abstract.
