Research Coordinator I Map Centre for Urban Health

MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions (MAP) is seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified applicant for the full-time position of Research Coordinator I to fill a new position. MAP seeks to improve health in cities, especially for those experiencing marginalization, and to reduce barriers to accessing factors essential to health. The successful applicant will coordinate research projects related to evaluation of interventions to address the opioid overdose crisis and community harm reduction services. Working with a team of staff and scientists, the coordinator will be responsible for research activities and data analyses under the direction of study investigators and senior research staff. The coordinator will have a strong commitment to improving the health of people who use drugs, including working closely with people from the community and avoiding actions that contribute to stigmatization and discrimination. The coordinator will be responsible for assisting with data analyses, liaising with community partners, and coordinating a project steering committee.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES**:
- Assist study operations, including recruitment, survey and interview administration, and data management
- Work alongside Toronto Opioid Overdose Action Network (T2OAN) team to support the coordination and operation of a systems-level environmental scan
- Record minutes of study meetings, where needed
- Coordinate researchers with lived experience, including training and reimbursement
- Liaise with community partners, including service providers and people with lived experiences of marginalization
- Prepare and process study finances including research study participant reimbursement
- Coordination of mixed methods research activities
- Assist in preparing of research ethics submissions relative to the initiation and conduct of individual studies, including consent forms written at an appropriate literacy level
- Prepare study documents, including interview guides and survey tools
- Manage study data, ensuring secure handling and storage
- Implement quality assurance processes to main data integrity
- Assist with analysis of qualitative focus groups and interviews
- Assist with analysis of quantitative survey data
- Perform literature reviews and abstract relevant data
- Assist with manuscript preparation, including drafting of methods sections, managing references, and coordination of submissions.
- Preparation of presentations and posters related to the study.
- Coordination of within-grant and end-of-grant knowledge translation activities, including: planning of dissemination events; preparing, attending, and taking minutes at meetings with key stakeholders and decision makers; and managing study correspondence.
- Other assigned duties, as required
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor of Science in a health-related discipline, Masters preferred
- An aptitude for accuracy, detail and problem-solving
- Good personal and program time/detail management skills
- Experience working with people experiencing marginalization is an asset
- Experience with qualitative data analysis is an asset
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently with a strong inter-personal skills and a high level of self-direction
- Exceptional organizational and coordination skills, including the ability to set priorities, monitor progress towards goals, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and achieve results within clearly specified timelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to learn new skills and software quickly
