**Duties and Responsibilities**

Under the authority of the Executive Director, the **Iskweu Research Coordinator** is responsible for the following tasks:

- Assist Iskweu project coordinator in the coordination duties required when someone is reported missing in the Montreal area.

**Data collection**:

- Collect data of 30 communities across Quebec on the number of women identified by the communities as MMIWG2S.
- Collaborate with FAQ and University of Outaouais to collect data on MMIW from communities to increase the evidence base.
- Collect statistics and create research methodology in a culturally respectful manner.
- Coordinate with Quebec Native Women to visit communities and promote the Iskweu project.
- Meet with each police station in the communities to discuss the current protocol between the SPVM and the Iskweu project. Collaborate to evaluate whether a similar protocol could be developed in each community.
- Participate on national reading committees of the MMIWG2S inquiry.
- Report/recommend, and put together work groups to put into action certain recommendations in the Montreal area.
- Assist the Iskweu project coordinator in supporting Indigenous women throughout the judicial system when they are victims of violence.
- Assist Iskweu coordinator in planning for February 14th and October 4th vigils, as well as other rallies.
- Be responsible for online communications (social media)
- Develop and distribute educational material on MMIWG2S.
- Speak to groups and provide educational material on MMIWG2S.
- Participate on committees addressing violence against women and work with community partners.
- Distribute toolkits to Indigenous women coming to Montreal.
- Coordinate volunteers.
- Submit monthly reports to the Executive Director.
- Other related duties as required by the Executive Director.
