The Indigenous Excellence Division of Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning is seeking a qualified individual to fill the regular position of Community Schools Mental Health Consultant (CRC).

Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Checks
- Must have or be eligible for a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate or have a valid Manitoba Permanent School Clinician’s Certificate
- Must have the ability to travel throughout the Province of Manitoba, with possible overnight stays
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or related undergraduate degree in Human Services or, Bachelor of Education.
- Significant work experience in a social services or school setting (private or First Nation schools) including but not limited to child development, family centred services, early intervention, family support and community based services.
- Experience working in school guidance/counselling or as a School Social Worker in the K-12 education system.
- Experience administering specialized assessments, with follow up development and implementation of appropriate educational programming to meet mental health/social/emotional/behavioural needs of students, which includes facilitating the student specific planning process.
- Knowledge of the community school philosophy and principles of community education and development.
- Experience working with Indigenous students and families.
- Excellent verbal communication skills including experience delivering presentations.
- Effective written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Experience in project management and leading project teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships within the organization and with external partners.
Desired:
- Basic working knowledge of financial management, reporting and accountability practices.
**Duties**:
The Community Schools Mental Health Consultant provides support and resources in the area of Mental Health Services to school division personnel and support personnel to ensure the successful operation of the Community Schools Program. This includes supporting provincially funded agencies by providing supports to children and youth with social and emotional needs. The position involves extensive consultation and collaboration with school division staff, parents and the wider community to facilitate program implementation. This position also brings feedback from the field and provide information to government in their respective areas of expertise.
