Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 5,900 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.

The primary purpose of this position is to work as a member of the Facilities team to complete all assigned maintenance and reliability duties on buildings, grounds and equipment owned or operated by the Peace Wapiti Public School Division.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Red Seal(s) in the following trade(s); Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter (Class 1 or 2)
- Alberta Class 5 (or better) Driver's License
- WHMIS 2015
- Experience in building trades and related best practices
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, line drawings, specifications and technical manuals
- Experience with maintaining building structure, mechanical systems (i.e. heating/cooling, pumps, boilers), plumbing
- Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System or an Asset Management System
- Working knowledge of provincial and national building and fire codes
- Understanding of current Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations and Code

- Complete daily service plumbing tasks
- Carry out preventative or prescriptive maintenance tasks as prescribed by the maintenance program
- Report items damaged or in need of repair or upgrade
- Repair routine items and report non-routine items to the Director of Facilities as appropriate
- Troubleshoot issues and propose resolutions complete with cost estimates and projected timelines
- Oversee the work performed by contractors to ensure standards are met
- Annual testing and inspection of gas fired appliances
- Perform maintennance on pumps, valves, controls and mechanical systems as required

The salary range for this position is $69,715.80 to $84,961.44 per year.
