Health Association Nova Scotia is a not-for profit, nongovernment, member-based service association for a wide variety of health and health-related organizations.
Through a dedicated Continuing Care Recruitment Retention program, igility, a subsidiary of Health Association Nova Scotia, provides centralized Human Resources and immigration supports to address current and anticipated labour market shortages, in partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Seniors and Long-term Care (DSLTC), and the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services (DCS) Disability Support Program (DSP).

**Immigration requirements**:
In order to receive recruitment and immigration services from our team you will be required to sign a retainer agreement. This agreement will outline your responsibilities throughout the immigration and placement process, as well as the services that will be offered to you by our Immigration and International recruitment consultants.
Our immigration consultants will help you navigate the immigration process. As a healthcare professional coming to Nova Scotia, there are a number of permanent residency pathways you may be eligible for. In general, the minimum criteria to be considered for the programs we use are as follows:
- have a minimum of 3 years of direct patient care experience;
- be 21 to 55 years old;
- have high school diploma and relevant education;
- have the appropriate training, skills and/or accreditation for the job;
- prove language ability equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5 even if your first language is English or French with IELTS or CELPIP General Test;
- If below a CLB level 8, you will need to establish a plan to obtain CLB 8 through RPL education plan.
- Show enough financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia (depends on family size)
**Responsibilities**:
- Assisting clients with various personal care activities (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming).
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Assist clients with meals and between meal refreshments.
- Provide respite for families and care givers.
- Documentation (e.g., reporting client concerns, progress notes, incident reports).
- Engage residents/families in leisure/recreational programs.
**Core Requirements**:
- Provincial Continuing Care Assistant Certification
- Persons with related education and/or work experience and are enrolled in or are eligible to be enrolled in CCA RPL Program
- Students in nursing, CCA programs, and international educated nurses will be considered.
