**What's the opportunity?**
**Manager, Wealth Management**
Reporting to the VP of Member Experience and Wealth Management, you will manage the overall operations of the First Credit Union Wealth Management division, including our life insurance offering. With a passion for improving our members and clients financial well-being, you will develop and implement business development strategies to enhance the integration of our wealth services within the credit union’s branches and externally. Providing leadership and support to an experienced wealth team, you will ensure delivery of quality service and have the opportunity to grow assets in our expanded branch network on Vancouver Island.
**What will you do?**
**Lead**
- Manage and direct the overall operations of the wealth management division, including coaching employees to identify and meet client's needs.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, training, licensing and contracting as required and practices are in place for maximum efficiency.
- Manages the performance process for wealth management employees regarding technical expertise, targets and business development initiatives.
- Acts as an expert and resource in wealth management services, including awareness of trends and the competitive environment, maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of products and services to meet the needs of existing and potential clients.
- Collaborate and work with partners such as our MFDA dealer and MGA to ensure continued support and a strong working relationship.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures that create profitable growth for the division by controlling expenses and promoting and leveraging growth opportunities.
- Regularly review and monitor performance to the annual operating plan, budget and strategic targets, and takes necessary action to achieve objectives.
- Report division results and trends to senior management on a regular basis and when required.
- Participate in interdepartmental projects and meetings to assist FCU with its corporate goals.
- Demonstrate support for corporate initiatives and influences others to build and contribute to a positive wealth management division environment that encourages wealth management employees to develop to their fullest potential, demonstrate professionalism, and achieve established targets.
- Upon request, provides ad-hoc support to the Senior Management team in achieving overall CU operation goals and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with operation managers to enhance the profile of the wealth management division within branches and amongst the membership.
**Advise**
- Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the wealth management division in the Comox Valley, leveraging the First Credit Union expanded branch network.
- Contribute to wealth management division sales targets by actively growing a book of business focused in the Comox Valley.
- Analyze member/client needs to provide investment and financial advice to assist them in achieving their financial goals.
- Represent First Credit Union within the business community and work to promote FCU wealth division to our employees and members.
- Exhibit a high commitment to member and client relationships by promoting relationship building and referring to other departments and divisions when appropriate.
**What do you need to be successful?**
- Advanced knowledge of Wealth Management products, services, and regulations, including life insurance.
- Post-secondary education in business or related experience.
- Five or more years of wealth management experience with a proven record of excellence in practice management.
- Completion of Industry designation (i.e. CLU, CFP)
- IIROC or MFDA license; life insurance license considered an asset.
- Leadership ability, including the ability to coach and develop technical professionals.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and advanced skills with MS Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve, with strong organization skills and emphasis on time management and prioritization.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a service-oriented focus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform under pressure, and demonstrate a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness and flexibility.
- Proven ability to effectively work independently and from remote locations.
