**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Manage the workflow of Layout Artists within established production specs; coordinate with other leads to establish new workflows as needed.
- Develop, manage and maintain timing and production quotas in accordance with the coordination team
- Teach and provide valid and applicable experience to junior layout artists to get them up to production ready capabilities in a short manner of time
- Manage daily tasks for the team, shifting priorities when needed and being capable of understanding production needs to react accordingly to multiple different situations
- Manage artists quota and output for production and achieve an overall standard with the team that is easily attainable
- Provide regular team progress updates for Production and discuss immediately if scheduled deadlines will not be met; collaborate on ways to get back on track
- Troubleshoot issues on the tech and creative side with the applicable stakeholders
- Establish character staging, camera positioning and animate camera movement.
- Provide technical set-up of shots for downstream production departments.
- Review and approve all layout shots prior to Director and client reviews
- Oversee the execution of all internal and client retakes
- Review and prepare all shots prior to start of animation
- Take part in production meetings which include but may not be limited to script/asset breakdown meetings, layout kick-offs, layout rounds, pre-client layout shipment reviews, client note reviews
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by management

**Qualification**
- Reel containing examples of work done in a 3D computer graphics environment which includes entire sequences where you were responsible for all the layout work.
- Work should demonstrate a strong emphasis on visual storytelling including staging, composition, and editing.
- Minimum 5 years Layout experience.
- College diploma or equivalent in 2D or 3D computer graphics, graphics or visual arts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Animation, or Fine Arts recommended, though not required.
- Have a good eye for image composition (direction) and good knowledge of cameras.
- Proven track record of managerial experience within the department from reference and experience.
- Able to work and communicate effectively in a collaborative, fast paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be flexible and willing to learn.
- Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
