**What you will do**:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Community Programming in the Community Services Division your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Facilitate the coordination and on-site delivery of Recreation and Community programs and activities for a variety of participants including children, youth, adults, and seniors
- Provide excellent customer service to program participants, monitor for safety, and ensures policies and procedures are being followed; may be required to support participants with basic instruction on occasion
- Provide operational and administrative support for programming, such as communicating with program participants, tracking attendance, transporting program equipment and supplies to various facilities, monitoring inventory of program equipment, data collection and entry, and tracking statistics
- Assist the programming team with the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreation and community programs
- Work cooperatively with other City staff to ensure successful delivery of programs
- Acts as liaison between instructors, program partners, and the programming teams
- Assess and respond to incidents, problems, and emergencies as required in accordance with policies and procedures
- Provide routine activity summaries and document incident reports if required
- Provide support and guidance to Program Associates and/or Program Leaders within the facility as needed
- Other duties as required

**What you will bring**:

- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Either completed or in the process of completing a diploma or degree program in Recreation and Leisure Service, Sports Administration or Management or a related field
- One (1) year of related experience organizing and monitoring recreation or community programming
- Experience working with various age groups and in an municipal environment an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Previous experience with administration, data collection, and reporting an asset
- Exceptional customer services skills with ability to work cooperatively, efficiently and effectively with co-workers, customers, and user groups
- Successful completion of High Five training an asset
- Self-starter, highly organized and strives in a fast-paced work environment with multiple demands
- Demonstrates innovative and creative thinking processes with a focus on continuous improvement
