Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) is a not-for-profit organization established in 2010 through _The Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan Act_. TSASK has responsibilities for a broad range of technologies - electrical, gas, plumbing, boiler and pressure vessels, elevating devices, and amusement rides. Our programs are designed to improve the administration, awareness, and oversight of technical safety in Saskatchewan for industry and the general public. **Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Electrical Inspections, this role is responsible for inspecting installations and equipment on residential, commercial and industrial premises. This role also involves conducting investigations and auditing functions, providing recommendations, and enforcing corrective actions regarding substandard findings and non-compliance. Professionalism and exemplary customer service are paramount as this role involves direct contact with various external clients and stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:

- Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate,or equivalent.
- Valid Saskatchewan Electrical Journeyperson License.
- Five (5) years of related Journeyperson Electrician experience, or equivalent.

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Excellent decision making, problem solving, investigative, analytical, planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal with conflict and recommend solutions to difficult situations.
- Ability to work independently and deal with confidential information in a professional manner.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency.
- Ability to deal effectively and cooperatively with others.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage time and effectiveness for district-wide inspections involving a variety of clients and settings.
- Provide oversight and direction on all technical aspects of installation and requirements.
- Ensure appropriate work is completed in compliance with industry plans, standards, specifications, specific requirements, codes, and regulations.
- Approve materials, confirm specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests, and reject unacceptable materials findings and approve and confirm re-work.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, inputting data into corporate database.
- Ensure job site employees and contractors possess appropriate qualifications, licences.
- Inspect accidents, incidents, violations, and consumer complaints.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and communicating standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Supervise job site employee, contractor and public work as required by the position.
- Provide information and respond to inquiries from employees, contractors, and the public regarding assigned projects.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes and standards, regulations, equipment, and associated technology associated with the position.
- Use hand-held tools and electronic devices to perform job duties.
- Resolve conflicts effectively, within scope of authority, and escalate when necessary.
- Participate in continuous educational and professional development as required.
- Intra-provincial travel, as required.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
