As the Corporate HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for aligning HR and business objectives for employees and management across Corporate Functions in North America, such as Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, IT, Finance, HR, Legal, and Communications. This is a significant hands-on HR role, where you will be sitting alongside Senior Vice-Presidents and executives, granting you the authority to drive your own HR initiatives and create a substantial impact. With freedom and autonomy, you will have a rare chance to lead and shape your own path, taking charge of strategic decisions that will shape the future of the organization.

A day in the life of the HR Business Partner includes:

- Demonstrating leadership on all aspects of organizational effectiveness, including on-boarding, performance management, coaching, talent assessment & succession planning, and employee engagement
- Working directly with the Corporate teams in Vancouver, Prince George, BC and Mobile, Alabama and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, providing best in class employee relations and employee experience
- Speaking the language of the business; understanding Canfor’s products, services, business models, market trends, financial drivers, measures, and strategies; and knowing how these create competitive advantage
- Ensuring staffing needs are met and acting as a facilitator between the business and our talent acquisition group.
- Leveraging deep business understanding to identify issues, diagnose root causes, provide insights, offer recommendations, and develop proactive solutions to solve pressing business objectives through talent lens, such as productivity, engagement, skill development, attraction and retention & recognition.
- Leverage CoE talent frameworks to develop proactive talent management solutions including; workforce planning & org design, succession planning, and performance management that allows leaders an easy way to align people and work to achieve business outcomes
- Strategic Workforce Planning: anticipate future workforce needs based on existing business strategy and retention rates, ensures a continuous supply of the right talent, both externally and internally succession planning, identify key roles and succession plans for each of these roles
- Relationship building - Builds personal relationships of trust and can be relied on to do what is promised
- Supporting the training and development of our employee’s groups. Acting as an advocate for our corporate groups and individual employees in supporting their learning and development needs
- Working with your internal business clients and our Total Rewards team to determine appropriate compensation strategies for new hires and department and organizational planning
- Being a leader in safety and well-being of our employees

For this role come equipped with:

- A Human Resources Degree or related field
- Extensive experience as an HR Business Partner to executives in a large corporation
- A demonstrated understanding of client service
