Shipping and Receiving Lead

**Overview**

**Responsibilities**

Shipping and Receiving Operations:

- Oversee all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate with internal departments to determine shipment priorities, schedules, and special requirements.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and customer specifications.
- Shipping Preparation as per procedure. Print Packing Slips, take pictures of orders, log shipments.

Carrier Management and Coordination:

- Coordinate transportation logistics, arranging pick-up and delivery schedules, tracking shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve any issues or disputes with carriers, addressing performance or service-related concerns.

Customs:

- Create customs documentation,
- Ensure international shipping preparation is complete,
- Work with carriers, customers and brokers for shipping arrangements

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipment tracking information.
- Generate shipping documents, labels, and other necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements and maintain organized filing systems.

Health and Safety:

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies within the shipping and receiving department.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, conducting regular safety inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Provide training to warehouse personnel on safe handling of equipment, materials, and hazardous substances.

Quality Control:

- Inspect shipments for damages, discrepancies, and quality issues.
- Raw Material: Confirm Materials, Review and Confirm MTR’s, Ensure all MTR’s have been received.
- Modification Receiving as per procedure, database entry, ensuring documentation is processed appropriately and to correct designation.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments.

Collaborate with team to address any non-conformity issues

**Requirements**:

- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and supervise a team of shipping and receiving personnel.
- Extensive knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including domestic and international shipments, freight logistics, and customs regulations.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and systems to generate shipping labels, track shipments, and manage inventory.
- Experience in managing inbound and outbound logistics, including coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
- Familiarity with different shipping carriers, such as UPS, FedEx, and freight companies, and their respective shipping regulations and requirements.
- Ability to develop and implement efficient shipping and receiving processes to optimize workflow and ensure timely deliveries.
- Knowledge of proper packaging techniques to ensure safe transportation of valves and related components.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Ability to inspect and identify any damages or discrepancies in received goods and initiate appropriate actions, such as contacting suppliers or documenting claims.
- Understanding of customs regulations and international shipping procedures for handling exports and imports.
- Experience in negotiating shipping rates, contracts, and terms with carriers to optimize shipping costs and service levels.
- Proficient in managing inventory in the shipping and receiving area, including organizing and maintaining stock levels.
- Ability to analyze shipping and receiving data, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal departments, suppliers, customers, and logistics partners regarding shipping and receiving matters.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices for handling and storing valves and associated materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve shipping-related issues, such as delays, damages, or customs clearance problems.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry, record-keeping, and generating shipping and receiving reports.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple shipments, projects, and tasks to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Experience in managing shipping and receiving budgets, including tracking expenses and optimizing costs.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to hazardous materials handling and shipping, if applicable.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure smooth operations and inventory accuracy.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
