Position: Food Services Support - Dishwasher/Kitchen Hand
Terms of Employment: Part-time (17.5 hours per week), Hourly
Location: Calgary
:
To support the kitchen staff in day to day tasks including dishwashing, kitchen cleaning and food preparation.
:
- Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
- Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
- Maintains clean/dry floors throughout the shift.
- Properly washes, stacks, and stores plates, bowls, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
- Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by Aberta Heath.
- Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
- Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
- Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
- Supporting with catering events, set up and tear down
- Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.

Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred
- Knowledge of basic food handling and food service practices
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Willingness to learn and take direction from chef
- Catering experience considered an asset
**Education**:
- Minimum high school diploma required
Additional Training:
- Food Safety and Sanitation Course
- First Aid and CPR
- WHMIS
Work is in a fully operational kitchen. Hours will be 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday to be scheduled in agreement with the manager, plus evenings and/or weekends as required. Shifts can vary. Part-time shifts are as negotiated.
Work is physically taxing.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
