Class 1 Driver

**A day in the life of a Class 1 Driver ** You’ll pre-trip your truck and do some trips around the Island. You will do a delivery here and there. After your 9-hour shift, you might be staying late for some extra overtime. Otherwise, fuel up, park your tractor, and enjoy the rest of your day

**Responsibilities**:

- General P&D activities such as: safe driving, related paperwork, customer service
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with dispatch supervisor and manager
- Report all incidents and safety hazards in a timely manner to the supervisor or manager

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 1 year of experience driving a 53 foot trailer is required
- Class 1 driver’s license and clean drivers abstract is required
- Knowledge of reefer settings and food temperature hauling requirements is an asset
- Experience using an electric pallet jack, an asset
- Physically able to lift 50lbs required
- Good knowledge of Vancouver Island is an asset
- Flexibility for scheduling is key
