**Supervisor, Water & Wastewater Compliance**

This is a **permanent full-time role** at the County, with an annual compensation range of **$98,244 - $119,556.**

**The Opportunity**:
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a water and wastewater treatment facility's operations to ensure adherence to all applicable environmental regulations, permits, and standards, including monitoring water quality, managing treatment processes, and supervising staff to maintain compliance with relative legislation.

Additionally, you will play an integral role in providing supervision, leadership and direction to assigned staff ensuring recruiting, coaching and performance management methods are in compliance with relative legislation and/or County policies and procedures.

**Position Summary**:
Responsible for supervising water and wastewater technical staff, while also providing supervision of the daily operations of the County’s WWW compliance and associated staff. Additionally, this position will provide assistance with the management of all water and wastewater contracts, project consultants and in-house staff assigned to specific capital projects, technical studies and planning exercises, all while ensuring compliance with current legislation, regulations and policies in water and wastewater including DWQMS. Overall, this position plays an integral role in providing supervision, leadership and direction to assigned staff ensuring recruiting, coaching and performance management methods are in compliance with relative legislation and/or County policies and procedures.

**Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills**:
**Education**:

- University degree or College Diploma relative to the area of responsibility
- Quality Management Certification (including DWQMS experience and Backflow Prevention is preferred) - must be eligible and willing to obtain within a designated timeframe)

**Experience**:

- Five years of experience relating to quality management systems
- Demonstrated experience relating utilities with a preference toward drinking water and/or wastewater operations
- Municipal operations experience preferred
- Possession of Operator Certification in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection would be an asset.

**Knowledge/Skills**:

- Demonstrated root cause analysis and audit skills
- Good understanding of municipal government, its operations, services and legislation that affects the divisional responsibilities.
- Sound understanding of policies, legislation and regulations relative to the area of responsibility.
- Good knowledge of business processes and financial management methods to assist with the development of Division and Unit goals and objectives; the development of Division budgets and to work within approved budgets and recommend and/or take appropriate action to maintain sound financial positions.
- Must possess a valid class “G” Ontario driver’s license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to report, explain, provide clarification, and persuade to gain approval
