The maintenance technician will be responsible of assuring preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment related to the building of trusses. The maintenance technician must have multi-craft skills and be able to troubleshoot and make repairs to a wide variety of equipment. The maintenance technician is expected to complete preventative maintenance on equipment and identify/implement continuous improvement opportunities.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Create and perform preventative maintenance in the truss plant.
- Maintain truss plant machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair regarding minor electric, mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic and servo aspects.
- Perform maintenance shop tasks and fabrication as required.
- Fabricate, install, service and modify specialized equipment and machinery equipment from blueprints and sketches.
- Offer suggestions and input on budgets regarding upkeep of equipment.
- Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
- Run diagnostic tests to ensure system functionality.
- Repair broken or faulty machine parts.
- Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs.
- Align and calibrate machine parts.
- Follow safety rules and regulations.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to operate a variety of tools including drills, saws, service grinders, and welding equipment.
- Exercise independent judgment and make decisions within established regulations and policies.
- Demonstrate the use of advance troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to determine the root cause of complex machine failures.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to prioritize workload.

**Experience and Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Working with large machinery
- Ability to work overtime on short notice
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- G Driver’s license

**Education**:

- High School
- Forklift License an asset

**Salary**: Based on education and experience

**Hours**: Monday to Friday - 7:00am to 4:00pm
