**Job Overview**
As a Produce Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our produce department is well-stocked, clean, and inviting for customers. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while maintaining the quality and freshness of our fruits and vegetables. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members.

**Duties**
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their produce selections.
- Maintain a clean and organized produce department, ensuring all products are displayed attractively.
- Monitor inventory levels and restock items as needed to ensure freshness and availability.
- Operate cash registers efficiently, handling transactions accurately while providing friendly service.
- Assist in the training of new staff members on best practices for produce handling and customer service.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding product availability and customer needs.
- Utilize a forklift safely when necessary to move stock within the department.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in retail sales or a similar customer service role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain product quality.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Experience with cashiering duties is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean workspace.
- Knowledge of produce varieties and proper handling techniques is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
- Food Handler Certification
