**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct regular foot patrols of the campus premises to monitor for any suspicious activity, unauthorized individuals, or safety hazards.
- Enforce campus security policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty members, campus staff, and visitors.
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security breaches, and take appropriate action to address the situation and support emergency services when required.
- Control access to campus buildings and facilities by monitoring entrances, checking identification, and verifying credentials of individuals entering the premises.
- Aid with investigating security incidents, accidents, or violations of campus rules and regulations, and document findings in incident reports.
- Assist with crowd control during events, gatherings, or emergencies to maintain order and ensure the safety of attendees.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and respond to security threats or breaches promptly.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and campus officials to coordinate responses to security incidents and emergencies.
- Provide assistance and information to students, faculty members, campus staff and visitors, and serve as a point of contact for inquiries or concerns related to campus security.
- Ensure detailed incident reports are submitted promptly, contributing to accurate and timely records of security incidents, patrols, and activities, and prepare reports for campus administration or law enforcement as required.
- A valid BC Security Guard License is required.
- A valid OFA-2 certification is an asset.
- Prior security experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with our teams and clients
- Superior customer service skills to foster positive relationships.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, demonstrating resilience and sound judgment to de-escalate challenging circumstances effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills, essential for detecting and addressing security risks proactively.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, adapting to the dynamic needs of our operation.
