**Bow Lake Music & Coding Inc. (Educify Inc.) is a training hub for Music, Coding and Language **lessons**, we help individuals and organisations achieve their musical, tech, and Language skills and **potential**. We have our home office in Calgary, AB, however with Teaching Contractors and Clients all over Canada and the United States. We actively seek Music Trainers to take up one of our new clients (A Church) in Toronto, ON.**

**As a Music Trainer in a church setting, your role is to provide musical training and guidance to individuals and groups within the church community. You will work closely with choir members, worship teams, and musicians, helping them develop their musical skills, enhance their understanding of worship music, and support their spiritual growth. Your responsibilities will include planning and leading rehearsals, conducting vocal and instrumental training sessions, and fostering a culture of musical excellence within the church.**

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Plan and lead music rehearsals**:Organize and conduct regular rehearsals for the choir, worship team, and other musical groups within the church. Prepare and select appropriate repertoire for services and events, ensuring a diverse range of musical styles and genres.

**2. Provide vocal and instrumental training**:Offer individual and group training sessions to choir members, worship team vocalists, and musicians. Focus on developing vocal techniques, harmonization, blending, instrumental proficiency, and musical expression.

**3. Teach music theory and sight-reading**:Instruct choir members and musicians on music theory fundamentals, including notation, scales, chords, and rhythm. Help them improve their sight-reading skills to enhance their ability to learn and perform music effectively.

**4. Foster worship leadership skills**:Support and train worship leaders in effectively leading congregational singing, facilitating a worshipful atmosphere, and engaging the congregation in musical worship.

**5. Arrange and compose music**:Create or adapt musical arrangements to suit the specific needs and resources of the church. Compose or collaborate on original musical compositions as required for special services or events.

**6. Coordinate with the worship team and pastor**:Collaborate with the worship team, pastor, and other church leaders to ensure that the music aligns with the overall worship vision and message. Participate in planning meetings and provide input on musical selections and creative ideas.

**7. Cultivate a culture of musical excellence**:Encourage and inspire musicians and singers to strive for excellence in their musical skills and spiritual growth. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help individuals and groups continually improve their musical performance.

**8. Mentor and develop emerging talents**:Identify and nurture musical talents within the church community. Provide mentorship, guidance, and additional training to individuals who show potential and passion for music ministry.

**9. Collaborate with other ministries**:Work closely with other ministries within the church to support their musical needs for events, special services, or outreach programs. Foster a spirit of collaboration and teamwork.

**10. Stay updated with worship music trends**:Keep abreast of current worship music trends, new songs, and resources relevant to the church's worship style. Introduce fresh musical elements and arrangements while respecting the traditions and preferences of the church community.

**Requirements**:

- Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments and/or vocal performance.**
**- Strong knowledge of music theory, harmony, and worship music styles.**
**- Previous experience leading music in a church or worship setting.**
**- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with choir members, worship team members, and church leadership.**
**- Ability to inspire and motivate individuals and groups in a spiritually uplifting manner.**
**- Understanding of the role of music in worship and its ability to enhance the worship experience.**
**- Familiarity with a diverse range of worship music genres, both contemporary and traditional.**
**- Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership, worship leaders, and volunteers.**
**- Organizational skills to plan rehearsals, manage music resources, and coordinate schedules.**
**- Flexibility to accommodate the specific needs and traditions of the church community.**
**- A Vulnerable Sector Background check would be needed to qualify for this position.**
**- A minimum of three years experience in music (instrumental & vocal) lessons is needed to qualify for this position.**
**- A Music certificate would be an advantage**
**- Ability to teach, other musical instruments would be an advantage.**
**- Fluent English skills is compulsory for this position.**
