**Hiring Immediately: Junior Estimator**

ELITE EXCAVATING INC. is a COR-certified construction company that employs those who are reliable, hardworking and have a positive attitude. We are currently looking to add a Full-Time Junior Estimator to our team.

**Overview**:
The person in this role will work with the Senior Estimator to ensure successful execution by formulating quotes, managing quotes, creating project schedules, procuring key materials, hiring subcontractors and overseeing the process of each project until completion.

**Responsibilities/Tasks**:

- Monitoring bid tender sites to seek out new business opportunities
- Analyze drawings and specifications
- Work with the Senior Estimator to prepare, review and submit accurate material, labour and equipment cost estimates and proposals in a timely manner
- Understand the bid preparation process, including quantity take-off and closing procedures
- Review, understand and evaluate tender documents and drawings, visualize the work entailed, and prepare a detailed plan to execute work in an efficient manner
- Confirming all project-based paperwork is processed and up to date
- Prepare schedules and track progress. Establish strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and employees
- Vetting materials and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Perform site visits, both residential and commercial
- Participating in annual strategic planning and implementation of resulting initiatives
- Generating annual sales budget and monthly forecasting
- Reviewing invoices, contracts and assist with account receivables
- Providing excellent customer service through project planning, diligent updates and attending sub-trade meetings

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 1 years of experience in construction estimating and project management
- A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or an acceptable combination of education and related experience
- Excellent project planning skills
- Strong estimating experience. Must have experience reading and interpreting engineered plans/specs and developing cost estimates
- Understands construction tenders, drawings, processes, and standards through experience and earned qualifications
- Experience with MERX and various tender websites
- Experience in working with estimating software such as Bluebeam, etc.
- Extensive proficiency using MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Understand scope of work to bid as well as contractual terms and obligations
- Ability to maintain good working relations with material suppliers, customers and subcontractors
- Highly effective analytical, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work under pressure and problem-solve when faced with new challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and meet strict deadlines
- Highly organized and detail-oriented

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $26.44-$28.84 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
