About you and this role:
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Quality Manager within the Train4 Project Construction Team located in Fort Saskatchewan (AB, CAN).

The Train4 team is seeking a Construction Quality Manager with an owner’s mindset and the knowledge and ability to safely execute field construction.

This role will support Construction efforts for the Path2Zero program, which will create the first net-zero emissions site of its kind in the world. The FS P2Z program is a key enabler to Dow’s Decarbonization strategy. Learn More:

In this role, you will:
The Train4 Construction Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that the project is constructed in strict compliance with all applicable drawings, specifications, and codes. The Construction Quality Manager’s activities are directed by the Sr. Construction Manager on the project. The Construction Quality Manager are responsible for achieving functional goals and project success.

The Construction Quality Manager, along with other members of the project team, is responsible to ensure that construction of facilities meets EH&S, quality, and business requirements. The Construction Quality Manager implements the Dow Quality Management Systems including planning and auditing, providing quality training, and using quality tools for problem solving and assessment of metrics.

This position will be administratively aligned to the Alberta Operations TES organization and functionally aligned to the Train4 Project Construction Team. At the completion of the project assignment the position will be functionally returned to the Alberta Operations TES organization in a suitable capacity.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensures contractor’s compliance with the project quality manual. This extends to all crafts and specialties, as well as turnover.
- Performs frequent field inspections of construction work, operating in the mode of Quality Assurance. Communicates construction deficiencies through proper channels to ensure they are addressed.
- Oversees the Project Quality Team, Turnover, and Document Control positions on behalf of Dow.
- Reviews and approves the welding section of contractor QC plans for specific jobs.
- Provides technical welding support to the Construction Manager.
- Reviews and maintains radiography and weld rejection data in the Quality Database.
- Incorporates daily reports into Site Diary, maintains Lessons Learned document.
- Attends Weekly Coordination Meetings with contractors and provides input with regards to interfacing of work on the site.
- Manages the RFI, NCR, and Equipment Preservation programs.
- Reviews construction status. Discusses matters which require certain actions or warrant changes to plan.
- Performs audits of the storage and handling of materials and equipment.
- Participates in pre-job craft meetings to reinforce quality requirements and expectations.
- Assists in training workforce on proper construction techniques and practices.
- Participates in inspection and testing activities as identified in the Quality Control Plan.
- Reviews Quality Control Reports submitted by the Contractor’s Quality Management Team.
- Facilitates appropriate SME involvement in quality assurance planning.
- Monitors QC-to-craft ratio.
- Performs visual examinations in the shops and field for code and EMETL compliance.
- Performs welding audits to confirm compliance or identify NCR’s.

Additional responsibilities:

- Adopts and maintains full ownership of all activities within jobsite throughout the duration of the project. This includes being innovative in finding new ways to portray quality assurance techniques as well as establishing and ensuring owners coverage when needed.
- Provides leadership and coaching for less experienced construction personnel.
- Always exemplifies the highest level of professionalism.
- Represents and cultivates the Train4 culture not only by self-adherence, but also through correcting others’ behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Petrochemical or Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Proven interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with construction contracts.
