**Position Summary**

The Industrial Sewer will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor at a manufacturing plant and will be required to operate various sewing machines as well as other tasks. Responsibilities may include stitching protective edges onto product as well as other assembly responsibilities which could include but is not limited to stamping of parts, stripping material, assembly of totes and final product. The Industrial Sewer will be responsible for efficient output according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies.

**Responsibilities**
- Setup and operate industrial sewing machines
- Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair equipment and tools
- Mark, record, and report defects
- Sew dunnage as per project drawings (paper and electronic)
- Examine completed parts for quality
- Record production quantities
- Perform inventory counts of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods
- Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S)
- Perform tasks involving physical labour and operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Efficient production/assembly or disassembly of products according to established procedures using work orders
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies
- Bolt, screw, glue, clip, fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 2+ years experience as an industrial sewer in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license is strongly preferred
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow direction and complete tasks in an efficient manner
- Critical eye for identifying defects
- Commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule

**Work Conditions**
- Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform somewhat strenuous physical labor at different times
- Use of personal protection equipment will be required
- Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination
- Must be able to quickly move arms and legs
- Hazards associated with the industry

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
