Our venues are located in the Distillery Historic District, one of Canada's most exciting art and shopping destinations and home to some of the top-ranked restaurants in the City of Toronto.

We are actively seeking a reliable and motivated **OYSTER SHUCKER** who loves food (and oysters), takes pride in their growing craft and wants to contribute to a high-achieving, the team-oriented kitchen If you desire to be in an environment where excellence and respect are expected, this is the role and team for you.

**What you’ll experience with The DRC**:

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Following recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set out by our Executive Chef.
- Preparing daily items according to instructions.
- Maintaining a clean and organized shucking station.
- Assisting in cleaning food prep areas, equipment, and utensils, while strictly adhering to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines.
- Following FIFO (first in, first out) method to maximize freshness.
- Moving food products and supplies between outlets when necessary.
- Reporting any equipment/utensil malfunctions/deficiencies to Chef on duty.
- Working collaboratively with BOH team members.
- Following and enforcing hygiene and safety standards set by the Public Health Department and the Company.
- Interacting and engaging with guests sat at the oyster bar while shucking.
- Setting up and shutting down the oyster bed and station.
- Identifying, opening and cleaning oysters with efficiency and confidence.
- Welcoming other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.

**What you’ll bring to the kitchen**:

- ** KNOWLEDGE.** Oyster product knowledge and the ability to identify types and origins is considered a HUGE asset, but. A culinary degree/diploma and/or the equivalent in education and experience is an asset.
- ** COMMUNICATION.** Excellent communication skills and customer service experience is considered an asset.
- ** POSITIVITY** You’re someone who has the drive to push through service, loves to learn and wants to have FUN
- ** INDEPENDENCE.** Ability to work independently with good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- ** A STRONG EYE FOR DETAIL.**
