Maintenance Responsibilities
- Inspect buildings and facilities for needed services and repairs
- Maintain doors, windows, furniture and other items
- Monitor and replace weather stripping
- Maintain building interiors and exteriors
- Report findings to Supervisor

Construction Responsibilities
- Frame the building including doors and windows
- Install siding
- Finish the building and suspended ceiling
- Install scaffolding
- All aspects of concrete work
- Wall/Roof/Floor framing
- Trim & finish carpentry
- Install drywall & vinyl board
- Install & repair flooring and/or base
- Repair and maintain roofing
- Demolition work as required
- Preparation and maintenance and cleanliness of job site

Hardware and Carpentry Related Responsibilities
- Works from drawings and/or verbal instructions to determine materials needed and scope of work assignment. Is familiar and can demonstrate working knowledge including but not limited to 5 and 7 pin IC locks, security, panic and closure equipment.
- Installs, adjusts and repairs doors and hardware including; locks, closures, stops, hinges etc. Recommends replacement schedules and parts to Supervisor.
- Build stairs and other items
- fabricate other items as required
- Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment
- Assist with the delivery of other related division services

Administrative Responsibilities
- Keep a daily log of tasks; maintain project timelines
- Collaborate with supervisors on work orders
- assist in the preparation of a preventative maintenance schedule
- Supervise summer casual staff

Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in lifelong learning with respect to training, in-service and course of study
- Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to an educational institution that provides services to children
- Deal tactfully with all school division staff, students and the public - Be knowledgeable and supportive of applicable Board policies
- Other duties assigned by the Construction Supervisor or Designate, Manager of Facilities and the Superintendent of Human Resource Services

Pay: $31.56-$35.07 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
