Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and friendly experienced Lead Cafe Assistant to join our team. As a Lead Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe. In addition to supporting the daily operations of the cafe, you will take an active role in supporting the owner and assistant manager in ongoing employee development, food and beverage quality, customer service standards and assisting in various innovative ideas.

Your main responsibilities will include providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized cafe environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet and interact with all customers and guests in a professional and friendly manner
- Operate the Point of Sale system and take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the cafe by adhering to company standard operating procedure, including cleaning tables, countertops, floors and equipment
- Support the owner and assistant manager with various innovation initiatives such as: beverage & food development, training and supervising
- Stock inventory and replenish supplies as needed
- Assist with food preparation, such as chopping vegetables or assembling sandwiches or bowls
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally
- Ensure quality and food safety guidelines while handling food products
- Complete or delegate daily/weekly tasks that are assigned to you or as a team
- Communicate information and report feedback with assistant manager and owner
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Responsible for the opening and closing of the cafe - this includes completing opening and closing checklists and securing the cafe

**Skills**:

- Has a valid City of Toronto recognized Food Handlers Certificate
- Strong communication skills and works well in a team environment
- Anticipate and communicate customer needs while ensuring a welcoming and outstanding experience
- Knowledge and commitment to the quality and safety of food safety regulations and practices
- Proficiency in operating a POS system
- Strong clean and organizational skills and are thorough and detailed oriented
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and multi task jobs effectively on your own initiative with mínimal supervision
- Previous experience working with food and beverage in a fast-paced environment cafe setting
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with public health regulations
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
