**Job Purpose/Mandate**

The Law Clerk will be responsible for their own practice of clerk work, with particular attention given to Estate Litigation practice area. The Law Clerk will also be responsible for assisting with the coordination of workflow of the department in a way that maximizes efficiency.

Working in conjunction with the Estate Litigation Department lawyers, law clerks and legal assistants, the Law Clerk will assist in ensuring a positive and high level of client service at all times.

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare and draft correspondence and court documents including pleadings and motion materials
- Prepare Affidavits of Documents and organize productions
- Prepare litigation briefs, summaries of evidence, and medical records
- Prepare bills of costs and mediation and pre-trial briefs
- Enforce judgments, including preparation of all material and writ filing
- Prepare monthly bills and accounts
- Administrative support, including organizing and maintaining files
- Scheduling meetings with clients, discoveries, cross-examinations, expert assessments, motions and mediations

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Skilled in interpreting instructions, preparing required documentation and correspondence and following files through to completion;
- Able to meet deadlines and ensure appropriate response times;
- Excellent interpersonal skills for contact with clients and staff;
- Excellent organization skills with exceptional attention to details;
- Superior oral and written communication skills;
- Able to work independently as well as actively as part of a team;
- Ability to prioritize tasks;
- Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each;
- Able to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in all matters.

**Education & Experience**
- Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent
- Experience as an estate litigation law clerk and able to work independently
- Decisiveness and ability to carry out law clerk responsibilities with mínimal direction/supervision
- Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and experience with Superior Court filings
- Very computer literate, including litigation support programs
- Detail oriented with excellent proofreading skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in general Wills & Estates is desirable
- Must be flexible to meet the daily needs of the practice

**Salary**: $54,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
