**Ref# 24SEI207** **1 ‑ Part Time (.5) - Patient Porter** **Central Patient Portering** This position will involve working the days, evenings and weekend shifts. The shift is not to be interpreted as a guarantee. Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Housekeeping, the porter provides safe, efficient transportation of patients and MDRD equipment or supplies within the Health Sciences Centre. Qualifications: - Grade 12 education or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Related experience in a health care setting - Previous customer service experience in a clinical setting - Excellent communication and team work skills, and a proven eagerness to be part of a team - Proven ability to perform well in an organized, efficient, and independent manner and the ability to work under pressure - Demonstrated knowledge of "Teletracking" - Working knowledge of computer software and electronic devices - Good verbal and written communication skills - Excellent interpersonal/people skills (patient and family centred philosophy of care) - Ability to work with mínimal supervision - Fluent in English - Flexible in related duties - Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the job (ie. Heavy lifting and extensive walking).
