**Overview**:
This position is responsible for all aspects of network administration including servers, desktop workstations, communications, and security and ensures that network performance meets company and user requirements. In addition this position will be the primary contact for all IT related user issues.

**ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE**:
This position reports to the Manager of the IT department, and will interact with associates at all levels of the company on a regular basis.

**NATURE AND SCOPE**:
This position will provide a critical role in the on-going monitoring and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure.

In addition to interacting with all SCI associates both on-site at Barrie Office or remotely via the appropriate IT support tools available.

**REPORTING**

The company operates in a dynamic and changing environment where there is a need for flexibility. It is therefore, possible that core elements of your job will change. In these circumstances, the Company will notify you of any changes and update this job description.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain network servers, workstations, and hardware.
- Manage and configure virtual servers with VMware.
- Manage network server tape backups.
- Perform software installation and upgrades.
- Ensure software licensing compliance.
- SQL Server database administration.
- Configure firewalls and routers.
- Manage network security for login authentication, VPN connections, and file permissions.
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor network performance and error logs.
- Provide PC support and troubleshooting.
- Provide Suzuki HUB user support and troubleshooting.
- Provide support and assistance with Microsoft Office products.
- Document network systems and procedures.

Good communication and problem solving skills required.

Experience will include over 3 years as a hands-on administrator in a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems and communications devices using current technologies. This position will require periodic evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
