This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 6 February 2025 and closing at 11:59 pm on 11 February 2025.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College diploma/university degree in child and youth work is required.
- Minimum of two years work experience in an acute child & adolescent inpatient or crisis program is preferred, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a mental health program (i.e. outpatient, mental health case management, etc.) is required.
- This position requires Monday to Friday day shift (0700-1500) availability and employment may be reviewed if availability changes once hired.
- Experience in crisis assessment and short-term treatment of children and adolescents experiencing severe mental health disorders preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to assess youth and problem solve solutions to complex concerns is required.
- Experience in facilitating psychoeducational or skills based groups is required
- Training in CBT, DBT, Brief Intervention is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of health care facilities, community support systems and social service agencies;
- Demonstrated effective organizational, prioritization and problem-solving abilities;
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships in a family centered environment;
- Working knowledge of French or other languages is an asset;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;
- Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area;

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.
