**Position Title**: Machine Shop Supervisor.

**Department**:Operations.

**Reports To**: Operations Manager.

**Summary**:

- Provide supervision and leadership to Holder Department employees.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Enforce safety requirements and maintain a hygienic work environment.
- Ensure that all quality requirements are met.
- Communicate with relevant other departments to ensure on time production schedule fulfillment.
- Manage given department production requirements by setting priorities, coordinating resources.
- Determine and manage subcontract machining needs.
- Work with maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and reliabiity.
- Train, develop and coach all holder department employees with essential skills.
- Solve problems and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage department tooling and consumable supplies, interact with vendors.
- Provide machining time estimates for new product to sales.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Must be available to work overtime.
- Will be required to support after hours emergency orders when required.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma in machining and/or 429A Certificate of Qualification is preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in a machining environment.
- Experience with manual mills, engine lathes, saws and associated tooling.
- Experience with CNC mills and lathes and associated tooling.
- Proficient with using a PC.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Navision Dynamics or other ERP system is an asset.
- Strong time management and decision skills.
- Strong effective communication skills.
- Able to learn quickly and work independently.
