West Coast Karma is a growing Canadian clothing and accessories brand rooted in community, authenticity, and conscious style. Based on 5th Street in Courtenay, we sell both online and in-store, and proudly wholesale to over 60 retailers across Canada.

As we continue to expand, we’re restructuring our business and looking for a **Store Manager** to become a key leader within our team — someone who will take ownership of our retail space and be the welcoming, inspiring face of our brand on the shop floor. This person will be enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in helping our business and brand grow.

**About the Role**

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Store Manager who thrives in a hands-on leadership role. Working closely with our Operations Manager, you’ll oversee daily store operations while building an exceptional customer experience, leading a strong team culture, and driving sales performance.

This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who enjoys wearing many hats, takes initiative, and wants to grow alongside a values-driven brand.

**Key Responsibilities-**

**Shop Floor Leadership**
- Represent West Coast Karma on the sales floor and within the community
- Lead by example, creating a warm, welcoming, and engaging in-store experience

**Customer Experience**
- Deliver outstanding customer service and set the standard for the team
- Handle customer feedback and resolve concerns with empathy and professionalism

**Sales & Financial Oversight**
- Manage in-store sales performance, promotions, and reporting
- Oversee budgets, expenses, cash handling, and banking

**Team Leadership & Staffing**
- Hire, train, coach, and support store staff
- Create schedules, manage coverage, and oversee performance reviews
- Foster a positive team culture through strong communication, motivation, and conflict resolution

**Store Operations**
- Manage daily and weekly operational tasks
- Develop and implement “how-to” guides, policies, and procedures
- Ensure health & safety standards are upheld
- Oversee inventory top-ups, store supplies, and cleanliness

**Visual Merchandising & Loss Prevention**
- Create visually appealing and on-brand product displays
- Implement loss-prevention strategies

**Strategy & Growth**
- Contribute to staffing plans, sales strategies, and operational improvements
- Stay aware of market trends and identify opportunities for growth and optimization

**What We’re Looking For**
- Proven experience in retail management or a similar leadership role
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Confident working independently and making informed decisions
- Comfortable using computers and retail systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to pivot with daily business needs
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a desire to grow with our company

Full training and ongoing support will be provided by the owners and Operations Manager.

**Schedule**
- **4-5 days per week**:

- **One weekend shift required per week**:

- Guaranteed **two consecutive days off** (e.g., Sun/Mon off or Fri/Sat off)

**Compensation & Perks**
- **$25-$30 per hour**, based on experience and performance
